The first edition of the “Youth Bible Night in PJ’s” was held at All Saints Catholic Church, Amsterdam, from the evening of the 6th of September to the morning of the 7th. The event drew a group of around 35 young people (between 9 and 22 years), all eager to participate in a night centered on faith, fellowship, and fun.

Evening Program: The event began with the celebration of Holy Mass, which set a deeply spiritual tone for the night. Following the Mass, the youth participated in Adoration and Benediction, offering them moments of reflection and connection with God. This was followed by an enlightening talk on Guardian Angels, which explored their role as spiritual guides and protectors, leaving the attendees more aware of their presence in their daily lives.

The evening continued with a dinner in the church hall, where the youth enjoyed a meal together, creating a warm and communal atmosphere. This was a great opportunity for informal conversations and the building of friendships among participants.

Next, the youth engaged in a prayer board activity in which they wrote down personal prayer intentions and things they were grateful for. This activity not only deepened their spiritual engagement but also allowed them to connect with each other through shared experiences. Following the prayer board activity, was an interactive social talk. This session provided a platform for the youth to discuss the challenges they face in their daily lives, such as peer pressure, maintaining faith in a secular world, and the importance of community. The talk was highly engaging, with participants openly sharing their thoughts and learning from one another in a supportive environment.

To conclude the evening’s activities, a movie was screened, offering a relaxing way for the youth to wind down before retiring to bed.

Morning Program: The morning of the 7th began with Morning Prayers and offering, reinforcing the spiritual focus of the event. This was followed by a session of aerobics, which energized the participants and added a fun, physical element to the program. After the exercises, the group shared breakfast, continuing the community spirit fostered the night before. Once breakfast was completed, the youth took part in a clean-up of the venue, demonstrating responsibility and teamwork.

The program concluded around 10 a.m., marking the end of what was an engaging and spiritually fulfilling event.

Conclusion: The first edition of the “Youth Bible Night in PJ’s” was a great success. The blend of spiritual, social, and recreational activities created a well-rounded experience for the participants. The youth who attended were highly enthusiastic and expressed excitement about the possibility of future events. This inaugural edition has set a strong foundation for similar activities in the future, contributing positively to the youth ministry at All Saints Catholic Church.

In summary, the event was a joyful and spiritually enriching experience, with all participants leaving with a renewed sense of faith and community.
